Overview
The department of commerce made its humble beginning in the year 1979. Prior to  this, the commerce education was not provided to the rural mass at an affordable cost.  The vision of the department is to impart quality education to the students of this locality in  the field of commerce and management. The department started with just 18 students and  currently there are about 232 students. There has been gradually increase in the student  strength from year to year. During the current academic year alone as many as 99  students have been admitted to I B.Com 1. The level of intake has been raised  frequently..     Commerce is the only  courses, which are alive today as they are catering to the needs of present generation.  There is great demand for these courses at presents. The department is known for its  disciplines and has become a model department in the arena of commerce  education. It has a blend of experienced and young teaching faculty. The  teachers are self-motivated and committed to their Nobel teaching profession. They are  showing many concerns to the students. There has been perfect harmony between the  faculty and the students. The faculty sharpens their knowledge and teaching skills through  attending seminars..     The department has the forum of commerce students. The  students will have better exposure through the forum. It makes the students to be active  and become dynamic. It will enable them to develop leadership skills. The forum is going  to strengthen the academic standards of the department.     A commerce book bank was established in 2013. The book is about  300 books in the book banks. The book has been issued to the students by the faculty  during working hours. The students can draw book not only from book bank but also from  general library. The students will be allowed to use the books until the examination are  over. It will immensely benefit the rural students.

The capacity building of our graduates to assume productive roles are emphasized during their stay in the college and to inculcate the habit of lifelong learning. The ultimate objective is to produce commerce graduates who possess the skills, problem solving tools and professionalism essential for being successful.

  • Class seminar is compulsory for all the students. some of our students were delivered their  seminar very effectively with using PPT presentation and some other techniques. Moreover, it gives exposure from an academic point of view.

  • WEAKNESS Insufficient numbers of computers. Stressful when time limited assignments are given. Resistence to adopt new technology. Shortage of staff. Due to lesser focus on placement of students many good opportunities are left behind.
  • OPPORTUNITIES Principal support to staff as well as students. Adoption of blended learning process. Great job opportunities for the students of commerce in the field of banking, insurance, accounting etc.
  • THREATS Low entry barriers of the industry. Changing Government rules and regulations. Inadequate budget. Some students fail to plan their future. Economic recession. Department of commerce lacks in term of modern infrastructure such as smart classrooms, seminar hall with latest technology.
